Administration
In Hausjärvi, as well as within all other municipalities, cities and towns in Finland, administration is based on self-government. Ultimate power in the municipality is held by the municipal council, elected every four years.

In Hausjärvi, the representation in the present council is divided between the political parties as follows:
- Social Democratic Party (SDP), 12 Members
- Centre Party, 11
- National Coalition Party (NCP), 9
- Christian Democrats, 2
- Left Wing Coalition, 1
