Environment
The overall responsibility for the environment rests with environmental committee. Matters such as environmental permits, waste water, noise control and air quality, overseeing of waste collection, water protection, overseeing gravel and soil extraction, protection of the nature and traffic outside normal routes and on water are part of environmental committees brief. Environmental secretary is responsible for day-to-day administration of environmental affairs.
Environmental protection
The Environmental committee is responsible for:
- in accordance with legislation regarding environmental protection, environmental licences, permits and compliance
- matters arising from water legislation
- environmental protection
- permits to extract earth
- waste management
- other matters relating to waste management
- refuse sites, advise on dealing with refuse, refuse containing hazardous materials
- overseeing compliance
